Compassionate, culturally sensitive support for people experiencing emotional and mental health difficulties. We aim to make support more approachable and responsive to each person’s needs, background and circumstances.
Contact our teamExplore our servicesAl Wasila Mind Matters is a mental health support organisation based in Preston, Lancashire. We recognise that culture, language, family, community and life experiences can shape how people understand emotional distress and seek help.
We aim to provide respectful, person-centred support that recognises individual strengths, values and circumstances. We welcome enquiries from people across different backgrounds, including ethnic minority communities, refugees and people seeking support in Arabic.
We work to reduce barriers to conversations about mental health and encourage people to seek appropriate support.
Support is discussed and agreed according to each person's needs, goals and the practitioner’s role and competence.

Support that considers language, identity, family and community context, including the needs of Arabic-speaking clients.
We aim to listen without judgement, agree realistic goals and review whether the support is helpful. Psychological techniques are used only where appropriate and within the practitioner’s training, competence and responsibilities.
We recognise that expressing emotions in another language can be difficult. We aim to make communication easier for Arabic-speaking clients and to take cultural context into account when discussing mental health and support options.
